Beyond the code

Hi — I’m Lihao (Alex) Qian, a computer-science grad now doing my M.Eng. in ECE at the University of Waterloo. These days I work as a machine-learning engineering intern in robotics, on image pre-processing and 3D reconstruction.

I’m diving deep into multimodal large language models — especially where they meet computer vision and SLAM. Before this: patent-filed surgical-robot vision in Shanghai, billion-scale vector search on GPU clusters, and turning solid wood into a touch display at SFU’s ixLab.
